Until the end of 2016, PM² methodology and certification was only available to EU institutions’ staff.
With the OpenPM², the EU Commission decides to provide open access to the PM² Project Management Methodology beyond purely EU institutions and including Contractors, Member States and finally all EU citizens.
This open initiative help establish a common project management language and process for projects across organisations, increase effectiveness, collaboration efficiency and success in the coordination of projects in the EU.
The OpenPM² Initiative aims to bring the PM² methodology and its benefits closer to partners and users beyond the original target group of European Commission Project Managers, in order to help setting a common language and a way of working across countries. The users who benefit from the use of PM² include:
- All European Institutions
- All Public Administrations in EU Countries
- Service Providers
- EU Citizens.
This is how the OpenPM² Initiative acts as a catalyst for the modernisation of European Public Administrations and increase project maturity within the EU. OpenPM² is an easy-to-use project management methodology, both for public and private organisations.
